Nai Palm

Nai Palm

Australian singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer Nai Palm is one of the defining voices in contemporary music. As the frontwoman and primary songwriter of Hiatus Kaiyote, she has helped reshape the boundaries between jazz, soul, funk, hip hop and experimental music, earning three Grammy nominations and inspiring a generation of artists across genres. Formed in Melbourne in 2011, Hiatus Kaiyote quickly became a global phenomenon following the release of Tawk Tomahawk, attracting admirers including Questlove, Erykah Badu and Prince. Their genre-defying catalogue has since been sampled and celebrated by artists including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Beyonce and JAY-Z, Anderson .Paak and The Carters, establishing Nai Palm as one of Australia's most influential musical voices.

Alongside her work with the band, Nai Palm's acclaimed solo album Needle Paw revealed another dimension of her artistry. Built almost entirely around voice and guitar, the record strips away studio embellishment to showcase intimate songwriting, intricate vocal arrangements and remarkable musicianship. Entirely self-taught, she approaches composition instinctively, treating the voice as both storyteller and orchestra, creating performances that are emotionally direct and technically extraordinary.

Following Hiatus Kaiyote's Grammy-nominated Mood Valiant (2021) and their fourth album Love Heart Cheat Code (2024), Nai Palm continues to balance international touring with deeply personal solo performances. Whether commanding festival stages with one of the world's most innovative bands or performing alone with guitar in hand, her concerts are known for their warmth, spontaneity and emotional depth. A singular artist whose work continues to influence musicians including SZA, H.E.R., Willow Smith and Doja Cat, Nai Palm remains guided by curiosity rather than convention, creating music that is fearless, deeply human and impossible to categorise.
