Miss Kaninna

Miss Kaninna is Kaninna Langford — a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali woman from Bruny Island, Tasmania, now based in Melbourne. She is one of the most potent, electric and history-making artists to emerge from so-called Australia in recent years, carrying forward the storytelling traditions of her ancestors into a sound that moves between hip-hop, R&B, rock and soul with total authority.

Her debut single Blak Britney (2023) became a cultural moment — reaching #1 on triple j, featured in the trailer for Netflix's Heartbreak High (a first for a First Nations woman), and earning her three ARIA nominations including Best Independent Release. She is the first independent Aboriginal woman ever nominated for a debut single at the ARIA Awards. Her debut EP KANINNA (2024) won Best Independent Hip-Hop EP/Album at the AIR Awards, where she also took Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year.
